When cutting Mother of Pearl mosaic tile, use a thin diamond blade to help reduce chipping.
Suitable for dry cutting or wet cutting (wet cutting is recommended for a cleaner cut).
Apply masking tape on the tile surface before cutting to help prevent scratches and minimize movement during cutting.
Use different adhesives depending on the wall or floor substrate.
Wood boards / plywood: use silicone sealant, multi-purpose adhesive, PVA (white glue), or a wood-board specific adhesive.
Cement walls / concrete surfaces: use tile adhesive (thin-set mortar).
Important: Some Mother of Pearl is semi-translucent. Choose the adhesive color carefully, as it may show through the stone.
Grout color is recommended to be close to the tile color (grout color options can be limited).
Light-colored tiles: choose translucent or light gray grout.
Dark-colored tiles: choose dark gray grout.
For wet areas, use a waterproof grout (recommended).
Wipe with clean water or a pH-neutral cleaner (pH 6–8) using a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge.
Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly to prevent water spots and residue buildup.
Best suited for interior wall applications and decorative areas.
Use in continuously wet or submerged areas only when an appropriate waterproof installation system is used and properly maintained.
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and high heat to help reduce the risk of fading, warping, or delamination.
After each use (especially in showers): rinse → squeegee → towel-dry, and keep the area well ventilated.
In hard-water regions, consider a water softener or shower filter to reduce mineral buildup.
Optional: Once installation is fully cured and dry, apply a penetrating sealer suitable for Mother of Pearl / natural shell (test first in an inconspicuous area). Reapply as needed based on usage to help reduce mineral and soap residue adhesion.
Acidic cleaners (vinegar, citric acid, limescale removers), alkaline/caustic cleaners, chlorine bleach, or solvent-based cleaners—these may cause dulling, whitening, etching, or delamination.
Abrasive pads, scouring powders, steel wool, hard brushes, or scraping tools.
For light stains: spot clean with a pH-neutral cleaner and a soft cloth.
For hard-water deposits: do not use acids. Soften deposits with warm water, then wipe gently with a soft cloth. If needed, use only a non-acid, non-abrasive cleaner labeled safe for shell/natural stone (test first), then rinse and dry.
